Kim is the founder, a Director, and Principal Consultant at Aviation Simulator Technology. Kim holds an Airline Transport Pilots License (ATPL), Multi-Engine Command Instrument Rating (MECIR), and Flight Instructor Rating.

Kim was born in Melbourne, Australia. He completed his Commercial Pilot Training at the Civil Air Training Academy in New South Wales in 1979, and later undertook his Airline Transport Pilot Licence (ATPL) training at the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology (RMIT). In 1980, he trained as a Flight Instructor and began instructing in Melbourne.

During the 1980s and ’90s, Kim gained experience working for a number of aviation companies and established Australian Scenic Air, an aircraft charter company specialising in outback tours and multi-engine corporate charter. At the same time, a passion for improving IFR proficiency through greater availability of flight simulators developed, leading to his increasing involvement with flight simulation.

After two decades of building relationships and gaining industry experience, Kim transitioned into aviation consulting, specialising in flight simulation.
